Takeley Football Club is believed to have been formed in 1903 although little is known about those early times.
These days the team plays in the Essex Senior League and the Essex Olympian League and in the 2006-2007 season Takeley F.C. won the most precious of trophies, The Essex Premier Cup, for the first time.
