Burnham v Takeley 26/08/17

posted 30 Aug 2017, 01:30 by Kim Norris

After winning in the FA cup last Saturday, Takeley had yet another away game to Burnham Ramblers in the league..

On a hard bumpy pitch it was the away side who started better and took the lead on five minutes when will green used his pace to get past the full back and finish low past the keeper..

Burnham came back into the game with lots of energy going forward but didn't really look like troubling yates..

The remainder of the half saw Takeley squander at least three good chances without really playing to their full capacity...

Half time 0-1 (William Green)..

After a very constructive half time team talk from Andy Walker and Kevin Riley Takeley started the second half well and Stuart Zanone had a good shot saved.

On 54 minutes Takeley went further ahead when Reece Barrett fed George Wappett who finished low into the corner...

All three subs entered the game within the next 18 minutes and made an impact.

On 77 minutes it was 3-0 after Stuart Zanone weaved his way into the box and was fouled, he got up to fire the penalty high to the keepers left....

Six minutes later it was 4-0, following a great long ball from full back Thorpe sub Das took a great first touch and burst into the box, squared to Zanone who appeared to be fouled but the ball broke to Das who drilled home low and hard.....

There were bookings for skipper Powell and Castle in the second half....

This victory made it five wins from five and a perfect start to the season for Marc Das' side...

Full time 0-4...
