Takeley Women's Football Club played their introductory match at Station Road ground on Sunday. The club require more players and contact can be made at david.dawson8@ntlworld.com

History was made today as the first ever Women's Football Match took place at Station Road the home of Takeley FC. A very sunny day greeted the two teams and a superb playing surface was like a carpet for the players to grace their skills upon. The home side were unfortunate to only have 8 players available for the game as working and holidays prevented a full squad from appearing. Benfleet on the other hand were able to travel to the game with 13 players so it was going to be an uphill struggle for the Takeley Women's team. The game was started after a minutes silence for those who died in the Twin Towers 10 years ago.

See attached match report for further details.
